Inner city ghost town

I was driving through Milwaukee last week and decided to drive up through and around the old Pabst Brewery on Highland. While I was driving through I thought it would be cool to come back and take some pictures. Well, this past Friday I went up there, parked my truck and a film camera with black and white film loaded in and my digital camera ready to go. There were some construction workers up there doing some stuff on the edge of the brewery where I-43 goes by (Marquette interchange construction), but other than those couple of guys it was like a ghost town. There was no one around, and there were weeds growing everywhere. It was really quiet, and you could see inside some of the buildings. Sort of an eerie feeling, it was as if the brewery wasn’t closed, but more a feeling of people just stopped showing up. There was still office furniture in the buildings, there were still some lights on, there were beer cans set up in a display, but there were rooms that were empty, and overgrown court yards, and broken doors and windows, but it was those few windows I could see in that had desk chairs and lamps still set up that made it so eerie. Below are some pictures that were taken, enjoy…

good thing nothing else too exciting happened that weekend. i would hate for you to have had a good long weekend away with your girlfriend or something. it's nice to know that abandoned breweries are still number one in your heart... : -P
